这封信是一个美国著名商学院的last-year的ph.d.的中国学生写的，专业是
accounting。
I personally think you are an extremely brilliant student and
have tons of opportunities in China. Don't bet your career
in US, that's my advice after years here. If I were given
to choose again, I will never come for PhD program. Spending
5-6 years in a US school and then facing the uncertainty of
job hunting in academia (if so) is a painful process as
I'm experiencing (as well as another very smart Tsinghua guy
on market this year according to my knowledge), especially
for Chinese who are generally negatively perceived, in terms
of quiet personalities and incompetent communication skills
even before going onto the market. Actually, I'm happy for
you as status quo since I don't want to see another
brilliant Chinese struggling in US academia. If you received
any offer, congratulations. But I suggest you consult some
one else like me in other US PhD programs before making any
decision. Some of my fellows in other top PhD programs and
I agreed that there's huge information asymmetry among
Chinese applicants and we should help to decrease such
asymmetry.
这可是切身体会呀，大家申请前，走前可要做好心理准备。虽然我将
这封信贴出来没经过她同意，但我想她的目的就是想让大家多了解
一下实际情况，减少信息不对称，所以就贴出来了。谢谢这位姐姐啦！
